James “Milton” Herod, age 84, of Elkhart, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, the 26th day of July 2022, and is now in the presence of our loving Lord and Savior. Mr. Herod was born in Grapeland, Texas, on the 30th day of April 1938, to parents R.V. and Alma Grant Herod.
Mr. Herod lived a long life dedicated to serving the Lord. Before retiring, he worked at Vulcraft in Grapeland. Mr. Herod was blessed with many talents throughout his life including an expert horseman, rancher, and cowboy. He was also skilled at painting and drywall work. Mr. Herod was known to many as a talented singer and musician, a special gift passed down to several members in his family. However, Mr.
