James Michael “Jim” Rogero, 74, of San Mateo, passed from this life on Monday, September 6, 2021, at Putnam Community Medical Center following a short illness. A native of Palatka, he had been a lifelong resident of the East Palatka and San Mateo area.

Jim served honorably in the U.S. Air Force. He had worked as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic with the Woodlands Division of Plum Creek (formerly Georgia Pacific) for 35 years. Jim was more recently employed with the county as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Elkton. Jim spent most of his time enjoying the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William C. Rogero and Myrle Triay Rogero.

Jim is survived by his wife of 32 years, Pat Rogero of San Mateo, 2 daughters, Dede Boyles (Stephen) of St. Augustine and Wendy Glover (Ricky) of Hollister, 2 step-sons, Ramey Raczkowski (Debi) of Marion, AL, and Randy Raczkowski (Heidi) of St. Johns, 2 brothers, Billy Rogero (Betsy) and Albert Rogero (Donna), both of San Mateo, a sister, Phyllis Greer (Butch) of San Mateo, 10 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
