James M. Harper, 64, of Boca Raton Florida, Saco, Maine and Springfield, Illinois died Sunday June 14th at the VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach.  He is survived by his wife of 45 years Judi Harper, his daughter Rebecca Harper of Danvers Massachusetts, her partner Patrick Clapham, his father Donald J Harper of Georgetown, Texas, his mother-in-law Marilyn Stephenson, brothers-in-law Jim Nelson, Peter Stephenson, Dick Stephenson, Scott Stephenson and their wives Ana Nelson, Maureen Stephenson, Paige Stephenson, Deborah Stephenson, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim Harper served in the U.S Army 1971-1973 as an expert field medic stationed in Ludwigsburg, Germany.  Upon receiving an honorable discharge Mr. and Mrs. Harper moved to her home state, Maine, where Jim became a Logistical Support Specialist in the moving industry transporting unusual and delicate items.  For example, the Dale Chihuali Seaforms glass exhibit several times over various long distance to and from museums.  He was very proud that his team never broke a single piece of glass.  He had numerous friends and was always the Good Samaritan stopping to help people broken down on the highway, assisting an elderly person or an old WWII Vet during a ceremony.  After moving to Saco, Maine in 1991, Mr. Harper joined American Legion Owen-Davis Post #96 and served as Treasurer, Vice-Commander and Post Commander several times.  As a legion member he became co-coordinator of the Memorial Day and Veterans Day Parades.
