James Merlin Cheeves, age 83, of Newnan, GA, went to his heavenly home in the early morning hours of Thursday, March 3, 2022. Merlin, as he was known by friends and family, was born on March 10, 1938, in Newnan to the late Walter Parks Cheeves and Maggie Camp Cheeves.
A carpenter by trade, and in his later years an avid farmer. His belief in hard work never wavered.
Merlin is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joanne Turner Cheeves; daughter, Beth Culpepper (Jeff); sons, Kenny Cheeves (Jenny), Eric Cheeves (Karen) and sis grandsons. He is also survived by sisters, Zelma Farr, Glenda Shadix (Bud), Runell Cheeves; brother, Ricky Cheeves and a long list of sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will dearly miss him.
