ORLANDO, FL. – James Melvin Fickert, 88, passed away Monday, September 24, 2012
at Rio Pinar Health Care and Rehab Center in Orlando. He was born January 11, 1924 in Robinson, Illinois to Frederick and Alice (Barber) Fickert. He graduated from high school and proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Army. For many years he owned and operated Fickert Drywall here in Muncie.
James is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Bllanche M. (Davis) Fickert, a sister-in-law Sylvia Griffis (husband-William); Muncie, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and sisters Hazel Voke, Burnice Long, Lyle Fickert, Marjorie Stoker, Merle Fickert, and Vern Fickert.
