James McDonald Griffin, 90, passed away May 4, 2012 in Canon City, CO. He was born August 13, 1921 in Canon City to George Edward and Rose Nell (Wells) Griffin. James was lifelong resident of the area; his family came to the Canon City area in 1860. He was united in marriage to Mildred Irene Day on December 17, 1941 in Raton, NM. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during WWII. James was a rancher and building contractor; and served as a Fremont County Commissioner from1989 until 1992. Mr. Griffin is survived by his children, James Donald Griffin and Vicki Leigh Osborn; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Irene Alberding.
