James Wesley Martin Jr. was born November 7th, 1955, in Denver Colorado to James Wesley Martin Sr. and Rosa Mae Martin. James was the third born of seven children. He had two older siblings, Ernest, and MiMi and four younger siblings, Richard, Robert, Robin, and Kenneth. As a child James was Manish, outspoken and loved to be a big brother to all his siblings, although he was the third born. He enjoyed playing, being adventurous outside, riding bikes and swimming. He loved taking care of his grandmother; he would cook, and clean for her, and kept her company. James was educated in the Denver Public school system he attended Cole for grade school and Manuel for high school. While attending Manuel James played football, basketball and the ladies.
