James “Jim” Marti Prindle, Sr., passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at a local hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on December 15, 1948 in Rock Island, IL, to Charles and Kathrine (Walls) Prindle.

Jim grew up in Kankakee, IL. He graduated from Kankakee High School in Kankakee, IL, in 1966. He attended Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL and studied biology. He went on to work as a union carpenter for Local 916 until he retired. He also owned The Dam Bait Shop in Wilmington, IL for 20 years.

Jim married Margo on June 12, 1976 at Naperville Baptist Church in Naperville, IL. They were happily married for 41 years.  They had two children, Jamie and Jimmy. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and belonged to several organizations, including Isaac Walton League, Ducks Unlimited and B.A.S.S. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them every chance he had. Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Charles “Charlie” and Katherine (Walls) Prindle.

He is survived by his wife, Margo of Albertville, AL, daughter Jamie (Bryan) Erikson of Coal City IL; son Jimmy (Serena) Prindle of Billings, MT; brother Mark Prindle; grandchildren Alyssa Ann Erickson, Collin William Erickson, Sydnee Morgan Erickson, all of Coal City, IL, and Kyias Prindle of Enfield, IL; great-grandson Xaiden Duane James Prindle of Enfield, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
