Our loving father, grandfather, great- grandfather and Uncle Jim passed away Saturday, December 22, 2012 after a long illness. He was born in Kansas City to Grover and Myrtle Madden on July 5, 1924. After coming to Utah he joined the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served 4 years fighting in the Korean War in World War II, where he received a purple heart after being wounded while fighting.

Upon returning to Utah, he met and married the love of his life, Beverly Edson. After living in California for a few years, they returned to Utah to start raising their family. After working as a chef they moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he became a chef for many years. After living in Phoenix they returned to Utah and he again became a chef for many years. After working as a chef at Hotel Utah he started working as a truck driver for P.I.E. which he loved and stayed for 35 years and retired from. He loved to take his family camping, fishing, the outdoors and the mountains in Utah.

Together Beverly and Jim raised four children. He loved his family and was very proud of all his kids. He also received a special gift when his children gave him five grandkids.
