On May 8, 2013, age 66, of Collingswood, NJ. Loving husband and companion of Kathryn (nee Pashuck). Son of the late Betty and James M. Smith, original owners of Penguin Cleaners on Haddon Ave. in Collingswood. Beloved father of Jacquelyn (Tony) Casadei, Andrew (Tanya) and Jillian (Erick) Keller. Loving “Pop Pop” of Lindsay, John, Nicole, Jake, Kaleb, Tristan, Ravella, Alden and Jamison. Brother of Joseph and Jeffrey (Gail). Also survived by many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.Jim graduated from Collingswood High School in 1966 and Delaware Valley College in 1970. He was a football star in both high school and college, receiving an athletic scholarship which he used to obtain a B.S. in Business Administration.Jim taught Marketing Education for 32 years at Collingswood, Rumson-Fair-Haven and Vineland High Schools. He coached both football and track and created school “stores” where students worked and shopped. In his later years, he became the School-to-Career Coordinator and wrote over two million dollars worth of grants for low income and students with disabilities. He was also a Job Coach for a grant program employing high school students at WaWa. He will forever be missed by his family, friends and students.
