Middletown – James M. Maxwell, 67, Middletown, died June 7, 2002 at St. Johns Medical Center, Anderson Indiana after an extended illness. He was born July 29, 1934 in Madison County, Indiana, and resided in Middletown. He was a lifelong resident of this area.
He retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors in 1991 after 38 years in the production department. He served in the US Marines during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #127, the VFW Post #266 and the Anderson 40 & 8.
He is survived by his his wife whom he married on May 16, 1981, Lieu Ann Ward Maxwell;two sons Michael Maxwell & friend Wanda of Dallas, NC and James & wife Juana Maxwell of Anderson; two daughters Leanne Thrist of Dallas, NC and Julie & husband Ron Thompson of Gastonia, NC; a step-daughter Linda & husband Joe Hedrick of Geneva, IN; a step-son John & wife Louise Whitaker of McCordsville, IN; two brothers Frank & wife Jean Maxwell of Lapel and Bob & wife Betty Maxwell of Anderson; a sister Betty Kessler of Anderson; five grandchildren Matthew Morris & Cora Alexis Sprouse of Dallas, NC, Darian Schube, Dakota Maxwell, and Kelsi Maxwell of Anderson; three step-grandchildren Tom & wife Rita Hedrick and Tim & wife Cathy Hedrick of Decatur and Justin Whitaker of Muncie; two step-great-grandchildren Andrea and Jessica Hedrick of Decatur; several nieces and nephews; special friends Brian & Judy Bronnenberg of Middletown He was preceded by his his parents Archie & Sarah Pettigrew Maxwell, two brothers Marcus Maxwell and Archie Maxwell and a sister Tina Fouse.
