James Lewis Robbins, 87, of Markleville, passed away June 20, 2016 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.

He was born on December 26, 1928 in Anderson. James graduated from Markleville High School, Class of 1947 and also graduated with a bachelors degree in Horticulture from Purdue University, Class of 1952. James was an U.S. Air Force veteran who served during the Korean War. He worked at Markleville Greenhouses and retired after 28 years from Delco Remy in Anderson where he worked in the Engineering Lab. He was a member of Pendleton First United Methodist Church, Markleville Masonic Lodge 629, Ancient Acceptance Scottish Rite in Indianapolis, Military Officers Association, Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, and Purdue Alumni Association James is survived by his 2 sons, Mark C Robbins and Jeffrey S Robbins both of Markleville; Granddaughter, Holly A Robbins of Middletown. 2 Sisters-in-Laws, Mary and (Ronald) Eltzroth of Pendleton and Joann (Rev. James) Rose of Cynthiana, KY; Special Friend, Sara Bright.

He was preceded in death by father, Lewis A Robbins, mother, Alta Robbins, wife, Betty J Robbins.
