James Leroy West, age 87, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015 at his home in Newnan. He was born March 5, 1928 in Canton, NC to the late Walter William West and Mary Etta West.
James was a veteran of the Air Force. During his time in the military he was a fighter pilot and earned the distinguished Flying Cross. After leaving the military he became a pilot for Eastern Airlines. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Audrey Hartley West.
He is survived by children Cindy West Hendley and her husband John, Dinah Carter and Mark West. He is also survived by grandchildren, John Hendley lll, Mary Anna Hendley Coles, Katie Hendley, James Hendley, David Carter, Laura Carter, Rachel Carter, Brianna West, Caitlyn West and two sisters Helda West Carson and Eloise West Greenwood.
