Jim is survived by his best friend and companion, Patty Kimble of Clarksburg, WV; two daughters, Shirley Cole & her husband, Jim and Susan Deem all of Clarksburg, WV; Roger Barrick & his wife, Sandy, of Hilton Head Island, S.C., and Eddie Barrick & his companion, Bob Knight of Salem; four grandchildren, Lisa, Kelly, Ashley Cole, and T.J. Deem; five great grandchildren, Kaitlin Griffith, Kansas Nicholson, Emma Nicholson, Madison Casto and Dylan Harrouff.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, of 38 years, Anita Joan Barrett Barrick; one brother, Richard Barrick; and a son-in-law, Jeffrey Deem.

Jim was a graduate of Washington Irving High School. He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII until 1947; he retired as a pressman form Fairmont Printing and at one time printed issues of Wild Wonderful West Virginia and West Virginia Football Programs. He was a member of the Clarksburg Baptist Church, Clarksburg Moose, B.P.O.E 482 Elks, Clarksburg Model Aviation Club. Jim also liked to deliver cakes with Patty.

Jim liked to explore the side roads just to see where he would come out. Many Sunday drives were enjoyed, in an old Nash Rambler, with the family; where picnics were either at road side parks or just throwing a blanket on the ground. Jim was still driving and seeing everything that he could until the last week of October.

He also liked to swim and picnic at Holly River and Audra State Park. He enjoyed watching West Virginia football and basketball games, Pittsburgh Steelers, Trout fishing, flying radio control airplanes; but most of all… Eating Sweets.

Jim and Anita liked prime rib night at the restaurant in the bottom of Sheraton Inn and another favorite restaurant was Sunset Ellis.
