James L. Shields, 85, of Linton, IN, passed away Friday, September 14, 2007, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. He was born in Clay City, IN, on May 12, 1922, to Levi E. and Rebecca Anna (Starret) Shields. On November 30, 1946, he married Wilma E. “Jean” Rhodes.
Jim was a veteran of the US Army who served during WWII.
Survivors include his wife (of 60 years), Jean Shields, son, Fred A. (Mary) Shields, daughter, Janette E. (Bob) Evans, son, James D. (Denise) Shields, all of Linton, and grandson, Levi (Tina) Shields of Bloomfield, IN.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and 13 brothers and sisters.
