James Keith Bastin, 71, of Bloomington, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016, at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis. James was born August 16, 1945, in Bloomington, Indiana, and was the son of the late James Adams and Ethel Mae (Richardson) Bastin.
James was a very talented and gifted Plumbing Superintendent and was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 136. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and operating heavy equipment. He was baptized in the Church of Christ Faith. James married Lucinda Jordan Bastin on April 11, 1992, and she survives along with his sister, Janet Kay Flynn (Tony) of Bloomington, and brother Jerry B. Bastin (Helen) of Bloomington.
Also surviving are his niece Anita Lynn Bastin Bohn, nephews, Robert (Rob) Joseph Flynn and Thomas (Casey) J. Bastin, great-nieces, Aubrey Mae Flynn, Ava Jane Bohn, and great-nephews Robert Jacob “Jake” Flynn and Zach Cude, and Lucinda’s step-son Rick Jordan (Shelly) of Bloomington, two step-grandchildren; Ryan and Tyler Jordan,
James was preceded in death by his parents and a half-sister, Norma Jo Bastin Myers.
