James K. “Kenny” Chaney, 84, passed away Thursday July 9, 2015 in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Greenwood. James was born Sept. 27, 1930 in Somerset, Kentucky to James O. and Letha O. (Taylor) Chaney.
He was a carpenter for Construction Dynamics in Greenwood until he retired.James enjoyed gardening and traveling to Las Vegas. He loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
He is survived by his six children, Jack (Jeri) Elliott of Fairland, Jeanne Dorothy, Jamie (John) Butrum and Joe (Anne) Elliott all of Greenwood, John Elliott and Jeff (Jodie) Elliott both of Beech Grove, two sisters, Ruth Rigney and Juanita Bledsoe both of Greenwood, brother, Carl Chaney of Kentucky, 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jo Ann (Smith) Chaney and two sisters, Ada Bullock and Geraldine Frost.
