James Junior Boyles, age 81, of Route 1, Knottsville, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at Grafton City Hospital. He was born in Galloway, December 2, 1929, a son of the late John Arthur Boyles and Alta (Maxwell) Boyles. His wife, Ruth (Dodd) Boyles survives; they were united in marriage March 3, 1973. Mr. Boyles was a Union Carpenter, retiring as president of Local 604 of the Carpenter’s District Council NCWV. He was a Korean War veteran having served in the US Navy on the USS Midway. He enjoyed the outdoors, and hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife he is survived by: four daughters, Judy McDaniel and husband Sam, of Grafton, Joyce Boyles Davis, of Grafton, Robin Mayle-Bess and husband Jeremy, of Charleston, and Judy and Dwight Armstrong, of Whitter, NC; one son, Jeff Boyles and wife Sharon, of Grafton; eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Mandy Boyles.
