Went to meet his Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Kairos Dwelling. Age 88. James was born on October 3, 1928 in Kalamazoo, the son of the late James and Winifred (Nagel) Sander. He retired from James River Corporation in 1990. He was an active member of Milwood Christian Reformed Church since 1960. He belonged to the Gladiolas Society of Michigan.
He was an organic farmer and enjoyed collecting antique tractors. James is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Terry (Dick) Sander; three children, Nancy Sander of Kalamazoo, Ken Sander of Kalamazoo and Paul (Theresa) Sander of Hickory Corners; three grandchildren, Adam, Garrett and Quentin Sander; one sister, Kathleen Sander; one niece and two nephews, Sandy (Stan) Heeres, Jack (Carrie) Lingbeek and Jim (Ruth) Lingbeek; one sister-in-law, Sandra DeGroot and one brother-in-law, Dennis (Becky) VanDelfzijl. He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Jack Lingbeek; and his brother-in-law, William Dick.
