James “Jimmy” Edward Fitts, 89, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama passed away on October 22, 2020 after a short battle with cancer. Jimmy was born on November 16, 1930, in Selma, AL. to Desma and Cecil Fitts.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Carol Rutledge Fitts, his parents, his sister Louise McFerrin and brother-in-law Frank Hendrix.
Survivors include his daughters; Lisa Fitts and Sharon Bergeron (Peter), sons; Charles Fitts (Tammy), David Fitts (Paige), grandchildren; Lara Watkins (Padgett), Chandler Fitts, Emily Fitts, Kelsey Fitts, C.C. Bergeron, great granddaughter; Samantha Watkins, sister-in-law; Marie Hendrix, nephew; Bobby McFerrin and many other nieces and nephews.
Jimmy graduated from Parrish High School in Selma and served in the US Army during the Korean conflict. Jimmy will be remembered for his love of Alabama football, gardening, hunting, yard work and woodworking.
