James Russell “Jim” Spicer, age 88, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away at IU Health Bloomington Hospice House on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. He was born in Bloomington on March 4, 1930 to James and Mabel (Powell) Spicer.

Jim was in the United States Army from 1948 to 1950. He was co-owner of Spicer Auto Sales and Jim and Dave’s Cafe, both of Bloomington. He was a member of the American Legion Burton Woolery Post 18 in Bloomington. Jim loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.

Jim is survived by his children, Russell “Rusty” Spicer (Trish) of Ellettsville, IN, Debbie Johnson of Crestview, FL, Jan Arnold (Roger), LuAnn Evans, and Jill Ellis (Henry) all of Bloomington, Indiana, thirteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and brother, David Powell of Pittsburg, PA.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bill and Terry Spicer, and sister, Mary Baugh.
