James E. (Jim) Rubright, 86 of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2020. He was a native to Akron, Ohio and was born on August 2, 1934, the eldest son of the late Dorothy L. and Maurice Franklin Rubright.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nellie K. Rubright of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; two sons, Scott E. (Lygia) Rubright of Red Bluff, California and Todd E. (Irish) Rubright of Cambridge, Ohio; two daughters, Jennifer J. (Alex) Hinojosa of Bentonville, Arkansas and Ashley J. (Marc) Adams of Palm Coast, Florida; three stepsons, Randall (Carrie) Wilbanks of Salem, Arkansas, Glenn (Tami) Wilbanks of Arizona and Dan (Karin) Wilbanks of Florida; ten grandchildren, all of whom had made precious memories for him, Sophia Rubright, Alexandria (Cameron) Eastling, Eric (Barbara) McFadyen, Kody Rubright, Mitchell Rubright, Abagail Hinojosa, Arthur Hinojosa, Dante Adams, Inessa Adams and Locke Adams.

Jim was a graduate of Kent State University with a master’s degree in education.. He served as assistant superintendent in Vermilion, Ohio, superintendent of schools in Norwalk, Ohio and as a classroom teacher in the state of Florida. Jim served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War era. He was currently commander of the Horseshoe Bend American Legion Post 344. Jim was committed to a life of patriotism to this country. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Maurice Rubright; brother, Richard K. Rubright and sister, Carolyn Sue Geiger.
