James H. “Jim” Hawkins, 67 of Walnut Hill, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014 at his home.Jim was born September 16, 1946 in Centralia, son of William Virgil Hawkins and Lena Mildred (Fyke) Hawkins. He married Patricia C. “Pat” (Locke) Hawkins and she preceded him in death on January 27, 2011.
He is survived by two daughters: Lena McClurken and husband Kent of Sesser and Stacy Hawkins and fiancé Paul Glass of Centralia; three grandchildren: William Casner of Walnut Hill, Andrew Bassen of Sesser and Vanessa Teitsort of Centralia; two brothers: Bill Hawkins and wife Eileen of Centralia and Ed Hawkins and wife Liz of Centralia; several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother, Virgil Hawkins, and three sisters: Barbara Robbison, Norma Karass and Virginia Martine. Jim served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Centralia American Legion Post 446. He enjoyed playing Darts, hunting, watching TV and yard work. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
