James “Jim” H. Armbrustmacher, age 92, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 3, 2024. He was born to the late Clement and Pauline (Thelen) Armbrustmacher on February 4, 1932, in Essex Township. Jim loved people, especially his breakfast friends and always had a smile and a wave for anyone he would meet. He was famous for teasing the grandchildren and later the great grandchildren by taking two cookies at a time and saying “they’re stuck together!”Jim proudly served his country as a Master Sergeant during the Korean War. While in the army, he asked a fellow soldier if he could try and play the soldier’s accordion. By the time his tour was finished, Jim had learned how to play the accordion very well. His musical talents didn’t stop there. He also played the piano, violin and guitar as well as lending his voice to the Most Holy Trinity choir for many years. He even sang at one of his daugthers’ wedding! The day after he returned from the war, Jim began his career with Oldsmobile (General Motors today) where he worked for over 30 years. While he worked in various positions, driving semi truck was his favorite.
