James Carnett McGhin (Jim), age 67, passed away peacefully at his home October 3, 2020. He was born April 28, 1953 in Valdosta, Georgia but had lived many years in the Bulloch County area.
Never one to be idle, Jim retired from Union Camp and International Paper in Savannah and recently had been working at DS Smith-Riceboro Lumber in Riceboro, Georgia. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed not only his home projects but would also help others with their home projects.
Jim is preceded in death by his mother, Miriam Dees Fletcher; his father, Ralph McGhin and his brother, Warren McGhin.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 47 years, Janet Steedley McGhin. Others that he dearly loved and who will cherish the memories they have are: his sons, Jared McGhin (Jennifer) of Guyton, Georgia and Ryan McGhin (Tiffany) of Byers, Colorado; his brothers, Donnie McGhin of Valdosta and Frank Fletcher (Darla) also of Valdosta and his greatest joys, his grandchildren, Jordan and Mollie McGhin of Guyton, Georgia.
