James (Jim) Byron Mabry, Sr., 83, of Gerringer Mill Road, Burlington went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 28.
The oldest son of the late Elizabeth Stafford Mabry and Samuel Hall Mabry of Elon, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Wayne Mabry of Elon. Jim is survived by his brother, Philip Stafford Mabry of Gibsonville. Of the home, he is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Davis Mabry. His three children: Victoria Mabry Dixon of Mebane, James Byron Mabry, Jr. of Burlington, and Jonathan Brent Mabry of Burlington.
Jim was a draftsman by trade until starting Mabry Industries, Inc. in 1976. Jim graduated from Elon College High School and was a member of Union Ridge Church of Burlington. Jim authored the book, “The Mabrys of Stanley County,” collected JC Brown clocks, was a gun enthusiast, loved golf, and held multiple US patents.
The family is welcoming friends at the home at 1932 Gerringer Mill Road from 1:00-3:00 on Saturday, September 3 to celebrate his life—casual dress.
