Mr. James “Jim” Blackstone, Jr., age 81, of West Point, GA passed away on Saturday morning, August 27, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Blackstone is survived by his wife, Gail Thompson Blackstone of West Point, GA; his four children, Vicky Lee Blackstone of Laurens, SC, Jeanne Blackstone (Charles) McNichols of Charlotte, NC, Lisa Blackstone Allred of Greenville, SC, and Jim (Martha) Blackstone, III of Spartanburg, SC; his seven grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Allred, Matthew Christopher Allred, Bailee Allred Fralick, Taylor Fralick, Virginia Grace Blackstone, Mary Cameron Blackstone, and Lydia Katherine Blackstone; his sister, LaVerne Blackstone Thomas of Powder Springs, GA; his brother, Frank Rhoades (Theresa) Blackstone; his four nieces, Susan Dease, Regina Ann Rose, Aileen Rose, and Julia Green.
Mr. Blackstone was born on February 4, 1935 in Augusta, GA. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lagrange, GA. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech and a U.S. Navy veteran from 1954 – 1956, serving on the U.S.S. Waldron. He went on 22 mission trips.
