Mr. Edwards went to be with his Lord and Savior, September 25, 2018 in a Temple hospital. He won the ultimate miracle of healing after years of health issues and Leukemia.
Mr. Edwards was born December 31, 1941, in Portageville, Missouri, to Hal D. Edwards and Ruby M. (Allen) Edwards. He entered his military career in the United States Navy in 1960. He proudly served with them for 7 years before joining the United States Army. He retired from the army in 1983. In 1985 Jim went to work for the Texas Highway Department where he worked from 1985-2001.
He married Donna Mae Herring June 8, 1999 in Temple. He was a member of the VFW Post 4008. He was Catholic.
Mr. Edwards is preceded in death by a sister Ruth Ann Broome, a brother Johnny Edwards and his beloved Doxie, Sadie Mae.
Survivors include his wife Donna Mae Herring Edwards of Belton, two daughters Sonya Askew and husband Ben of Temple, Julie Webber and husband Steve of Bellingham, Washington. two brothers Gary Miles of Louisiana and Hal D. Edwards II of Florida; one sister Cindy Chenault of Mississippi and 11 grandchildren.
He is also survived by his loving extended family brother-in-law and best friend Glenn Herring and JoJo Kilgore, Bob and Joann Herring and family, sister-in-law Rita and Dave Johnson and family.
