James Jay Forsgren-Rock

MANTUA – James Jay Forsgren-Rock, 79, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 12, 2016 in the Brigham City Hospital.
Jim was born January 30, 1937 in Bothwell, Utah a son of Vivian Vincent and Cathleen Quinney Marea Steel Forsgren.
Jim married his sweetheart Adriana Chadwick on September 9, 1956, she passed away on November 24, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jim and Adriana made their home in Mantua where they owned and operated Mountain Haven Country Store and Campground for 35 years. He was also the mechanic and owner of Jim’s Automotive.
He enjoyed motorcycles, auto repair, and had a passion for restoring vintage vehicles. Jim was a talented woodworker; making birdhouses, windmills and carving stumps into bears with a chainsaw; he built his first house with his bare hands at the age of 25.
He loved fishing and spending time four wheeling with his best buddy Huckleberry. All of the kids in town lovingly referred to him as grandpa. Jim loved spending time and traveling with his family and later in life his passion was his grandkids and great-grandkids.
Surviving are his children: James Kevin (Cindy Cowburn) Forsgren, Cindy Kay Gibbons and Holly Ann Forsgren, all of Mantua, UT; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. As well as siblings: Don (Deanne) Forsgren; Judd (Nona) Forsgren, and Kathy Rock McAfee.
Preceded in death by his parents: Vivian and Cathleen Forsgren and loving aunt and uncle Jesse and Grace Rock, wife Adriana, son-in-law Tim Virgil Gibbons, granddaughter Jamie Theresa Sheppard Forsgren and 11 siblings.
