James J. Winger, 62, of Lafayette, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Franciscan Health East. He was born November 19, 1958, in Lafayette and graduated from McCutcheon High School in 1978. Jim worked for Southwire for 41 years.
He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, camping, canoeing, auctions and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving is his mother Elizabeth P. Winger of Lafayette, children Jessica A. (Travis) Spence of Delphi, Matthew (Katlin) Winger of Indianapolis, Sarah E. (TJ) Alford of Lafayette, Charles N. (Tara) Winger of Dayton, grandchildren Austin, Zach, Madison, Adriana, Kinady, Abbie, Claire, Elizabeth, Asher, Grayson and 8 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are his siblings Larry Winger of Lafayette, Adrian Winger of Lafayette, Peggy (Jesse) Torres of Lafayette and Karen (Jack) Inman of Baytown, TX.
Jim was preceded in death by his father Lawrence Winger and Charles Bray who he looked upon as his dad, siblings Sharon Butler, Michael L. Bray, Paul Winger, Linda Blickenstaff, Patrick Bray and Robert Bray.
