James J. Lawlor, 83, of Toms River, NJ passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, he lived in Union, NJ before moving to Toms River 22 years ago. He was a US Navy Korean War Veteran and was a graduate of Seton Hall University, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing.
James worked at GATX in Carteret, NJ for 41 years, retiring in 1992. He was a parishioner of St. Justin the Martyr RC Church, Toms River, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
James was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth Lawlor in 1980, his second wife, Marita Traina Lawlor in 2010, his daughter Donna Martinez on May 22, 2015, and his sister Dolores Lawlor. He is survived by his three sons and their spouses James & Alice Lawlor, Robert & Linda Lawlor, Michael & Amy Lawlor, his daughter Eileen Lawlor, seven stepchildren and their spouses Kathleen & Andrew Serwin, Roy & Denise Traina, Eileen & Michael Montemurro, Thomas & Karen Traina, Marita & Ray Perrin, Patrick & Suzanne Traina, and Norine & Anthony Marando.
He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
