James served in the U. S. Army and just a week after getting married was sent to the Panama Canal for a two-week jungle training before going to Vietnam.

James was a software engineer for over 40 years and was a founding partner in Ovation

TEK.

James loved his church and loved to study the Bible. He spent countless hours studying and loved spending time discussing the Bible with Pastor Shane and Pastor Nixon and family and friends. We can only imagine who he has cornered now to discuss his many questions.

James always loved riding Harley motorcycles, and he liked it even more when Peggy started riding with him. They loved riding the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive. On a motorcycle trip to Louisiana, James discovered Cajun music and dancing and fell in love with the culture and all his Cajun friends.

It goes without saying that his grandchildren were the love of his life. He participated in many things involving the Ashville Youth Park. He was “Team Photographer” for the Youth Park and that carried on over to Middle School and High School events. On Friday nights the coaches couldn’t wait to get a copy of the football games that James had videoed.

James loved spending time with his family and friends.

The honorary pall bearers are: Marty Crews, Randy Eastis, Robert (Doc) Jones, John Phillips, Keith Reynolds, Jon Tidmore, Scott Tipton, and Clarence Williams.
