James Henry Nannenga, age 83 of DeMotte, IN, passed away at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, FL on November 15, 2018. He was born February 5, 1935 in Indiana, the son of Jake and Clara (Musch) Nannenga, both deceased. James attended DeMotte public schools.

He married the love of his life, Sandra Vander Molen on May 5, 1961 in DeMotte, IN. James worked for Hamstra Builders for 10 years and was employed as a carpenter with Local 1005 from which he retired. He is a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. James was a member of the American Reformed Church of DeMotte where he served as an elder and deacon. He was also a member with the American Legion and Jasper County Mounted Police Posse.

James enjoyed horses, camping, woodworking, and wintering in Florida with his wife. James is survived by his wife: Sandra Nannenga of DeMotte, IN; children: Kayleen (Jeff) Wallace of Floyds Knobs, IN; David (Kathleen Valentine) Nannenga of McHenry, IL; Debra (Matthew) Luedtke of Wheatfield, IN; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-granddaughters; siblings: Gerri Wunderink, Gilbert Nannenga, Marge Boezeman, Sue Lunkes, Betty Hayes; and many nieces & nephews. James is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Alice VanKley.
