James H. Wiskerchen, Sr, 85, of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin passed away on May 26, 2022 at Edenbrook Nursing Home, Wisconsin Rapids.

 Jim was born above the family cheese factory in Auburndale on November 22, 1936 to Lester and Florence (Voelker) Wiskerchen, Sr.  He graduated from Marshfield Columbus High School in 1954.  He married MaryAnn Zak on June 13, 1959.  Together, they had three sons – Randy, Rick and Rob.  They later divorced.  He then met his wife of almost 53 years, Marie Remus.  They were married on August 14, 1969, and had a son together, James Jr., and a daughter, Kristin, who passed away at birth.  Marie passed away on February 20, 2022.  He proudly served in the United States Army during the Berlin Crisis.  He purchased Jim’s Bar and Bowl in Rudolph and owned and operated the business for 38 years.

He enjoyed playing Sheepshead, Skip-Bo, and Rummy with family and friends.  Jim, Marie and the family spent many summer days enjoying lake life at their summer home on Lake Solberg in Phillips, Wisconsin. 

 Jim is survived by his children: Randal (Cindy) Wiskerchen, Richard (Michelle) Wiskerchen, Robert (Vicki) Wiskerchen, and James H. Wiskerchen, Jr.; daughter-in-law: Tricia Wiskerchen; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings: Ronald (Joyce) Wiskerchen, Loyola “Cookie” (Donald) Wallner; and Carol (Edward) Wiskerchen.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter: Kristin Ann; brothers: Lester (Betty) Wiskerchen, and Edward Wiskerchen; and sisters-in-law: Carol (Robert) Viegut, and Elaine Remus; brother: Donald (Kathleen) Remus; and brother-in-law: Donald Finlayson.

 The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Edenbrook Nursing Home, Wisconsin Rapids.
