James Henry “Sonny Man” Range, 77, of Galesburg, died at 6:05 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2017, in the home of his son, Keith, with his family by his side. Jim was born July 25, 1939, in Galesburg, the son of George and Otea Williams Range.

He married Deanne Ryden, and they later divorced.  He then married Jacqueline Oliver.  He is survived by sons, Kevin (Juanita) Cunningham of Galesburg, Jeffery (Kimberly) Cunningham of Springfield, MO, Keith (Raylynn) Cunningham, Sr., of Galesburg; Jimmy (Jessica) Range of Jacksonville, FL, and Joey (Sharla) Range of Galesburg; daughters, Dena (Roderic) Woods and Kathy Cunningham, both of Galesburg; additional sons, Curtis (Donna) Cunningham of Galesburg and Kenneth (Rachel) Cunningham of Dubuque, IA; and an additional daughter, Teresa Howe of Galesburg.

He is also survived by two sisters, Zelma Howell of Quincy and Joyce Johnson of East Moline; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, and sisters, and the mother of his children, Ola Mae Coleman Cunningham. Jim worked at Butler, Mfg. for many years. He later worked for Project Now. He was a talented Blue musician, playing in several bands, including the Mud Sharks and Steady Rollin’. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He attended Lighthouse Baptist Church.  He was a quiet man but always enjoyed being with his family.
