James H. Gard, 74, of Maryville, Ill., born Dec. 25, 1937, in Troy, Ill., died Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Liberty Village of Maryville, Ill.
Mr. Gard served in the United States Army. He was a graduate of Rankin Technical School, UAW, retired from General Motors in 1988 after 30 years of service, and was owner/operator of E and J Grass Cutting Company. James loved going camping.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Silas and Bernice, nee Johnson, Gard.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn, nee Wideman, Gard of Maryville, Ill.; daughter, Brenda (Jason) Dill of Troy, Ill.; grandchildren, Joe Scott and Mary Dill; great-grandchildren, Colten Scott, Ella Hurtado-Dill, Jeremy Crone and Alexis Scott; sister, Carol J. (Phillip) Klein of Black Jack, Mo.; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews cousins, and friends.
