James H. Donahue, Sr., 72, of Newington, the loving husband of May Donahue passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Hartford Hospital. Born in New Britain, son of the late John and Dorothy (Silvernail) Donahue, James graduated from New Britain High School in 1960 and raised his family in New Britain before moving to Newington 30 years ago. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army and worked for Topper and Griggs in Plainville for many years later retiring from the Jefferson House in Newington after ten years of employment. In addition to his beloved wife May, James leaves his son James H. Donahue, Jr. of Newington; his daughter Kim Donahue of New York; his brother Howard Donahue and his wife Kathryn of Naples, FL; and his sister June Donahue Ward and her husband Fred of Riverton, CT. He was predeceased by his brothers, John of Simsbury and Robert of Bristol.
