James Gregory Harris, 57 of Phoenix Arizona passed away on Tuesday August 24, 2021. Greg was born in Des Moines, Iowa to Jim and Jeannie (Renda) Harris on July 26,1964.

Greg grew up on the south side of Des Moines, Iowa attending St. Anthonys School and graduating from Dowling High School in 1982.

Greg worked for Jacobson Warehouse Company for 15 years. He started out in the Des Moines warehouse, moving on to the Director of Operations for fortune companies in the Quad Cities, North Carolina, Phoenix and California.

Greg became an entrepreneur in 2005 with the startup of the “Poolfectionist”, providing “perfection” in the pool service and repair industry. Having his own business was a lifelong dream of his. He was an honest and trustworthy business man with the mentality of “do it right the first time” and to treat everyone’s pools as if they were his own. As a result, his business continued to flourish from his client referrals. Over the years, many of his friends became clients and many clients became friends.

For Greg, family was EVERYTHING! Love had no bounds especially when it came to the light of his life, his daughter Gracie. They had an inseparable bond and did everything together. He always instilled in her to “keep plowing forward no matter what life throws at you”.

From early on, Greg was always adding humor to the conversation or situation. He liked to keep things light and everyone laughing with his silly expressions, made up songs (how about a cupcake, ok!), and “Gregisms”.

Greg’s favorite pastimes include, working out, fishing, golfing, horse racing, football (the “R A I D E R S”) and maintaining the cleanest garage in the Valley. Spending time cooking for family and friends tops the list, especially his famous pasta chena, meatballs and world class frittatas.

Over the years, all trips back to Iowa included a stop at Graziano Brothers for 20 to 40 pounds of Italian Sausage and fresh seasonings that he stuffed in his suit case. Family and friends in Arizona were on standby waiting for the call that he was making sausage sandwiches as Greg was all about sharing his love for Italian food with all!

Greg was a comical, witty man with the kindest heart. He was attentive and genuinely cared for anyone who had the honor of meeting him. His compassionate nature fueled his random acts of kindness for complete strangers. He took the time to stop, listen and to offer a helping hand. He was very forgiving, non judgmental and had a deep respect for those trying to overcome their personal hardships.

Greg was a loyal and true Patriot who loved God and his Country and prayed for world peace.

Greg is preceded in death by his mother Jeannie Renda, grandmother Mary Renda, grandparents Dorothy and Bill Harley and his niece Jessica Dale.

Greg is survived by the mother of his child Kathy Harris, his daughter Ashlyn Grace Harris, father Jim (Janet) Harris, sister Christina (Eric) Smith, sister Dina (Ernie) Looney, brother Michael (Nina) Harris, sister Michele (Cole) Summers, several nieces and nephews.
