James O’Neal Goff of Millbrook, AL, was born October 25, 1915 in Cordele, GA to James Arthur and Mary Emily Timmons Goff, and died June 5, 2013 in Montgomery. He served in the Navy in the Pacific during WWII, from October 30, 1943 until December 1, 1945. Mr. Goff served on George Wallace’s presidential campaign, on the Building Trades Commission of Birmingham, and was business agent for Asbestos Local #78 Workers. He was also Commissioner of the Housing Authority of Birmingham under Mayor George G. Seibels, and was the owner of Crown Insulation in Montgomery, AL until his retirement at the age of 74. He was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church. Mr. Goff was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and James A. Goff; sister, Thelma Goff; brother, Fred Goff; grandson, Chris Sidle; his wife of 40 years, Betty Jane Sexton Goff; his wife of 2 years, Jo Hough; and his wife of 11 years, Hazel Mitchell Goff. He is survived by his daughters, Mary Ann Sidle, Betty Jo Hughes, Debbie Leonard (Lin), and Charlotte Loar; son, Jimmy Goff (Carol); 7 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
