James Gerald Riggs, 87, peacefully completed the work of this life at 12:45am on June 29, 2018 at his residence in Noblesville, Indiana.
James was born on March 16, 1931 in Kokomo, Indiana to Gerald and Myrtle (Little) Grinstead. He married Stella M. Lawman on November 17, 1950, and together they raised two loving, devoted daughters. James is a United States Veteran with honorable discharge and served in the Navy during the Korean War.
He is survived by his daughters, Linda (Jerry) Jenkins of Sheridan and Kathy (Randy) Adams of Noblesville; his grandchildren, Annette (Joseph) Donovan, Brent (Jennifer) Jenkins, Stacy Jenkins, Katricia (David) Sanchez, Tony (Rhonda) Adams, and Shelly (Troy) Bibbs; his 8 great-grandchildren; his brother Larry Riggs; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of nearly 66 years, Stella; his siblings, Nancy Denman, Fred Riggs, and Bev Doyon.
Jim enjoyed other hobbies and pastimes and always seemed to be expanding his interests and skills. He was an enthusiastic fisherman, an able craftsman and woodworker, and knew his way around the kitchen (most often frying up his latest catch). He was a bargain hunter and garage sale aficionado, on both sides of the table.
