James G. Maxon, Cowles, Nebraska resident, the son of Harley  and Irma (Novak) Maxon was born August 15, 1937 at Woodriver, Nebraska.  He departed this life on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Webster County Community Hospital in Red Cloud, Nebraska at the age of 79 years.

Jim attended grade school in Woodriver, Nebraska and moved with his family as a young boy to Golden, CO.  After high school Jim joined the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War as well as the Korean War.  After being honorably discharged Jim held various jobs including: Cherry Hills Colorado Fire Department, Over the road trucker for Red White Trucking of Hastings, Nebraska and Norder of Bladen, Nebraska.

Jim was a member of the Masonic Lodge #53 A.F.&A.M. in Red Cloud In his spare time he enoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He built and collected model airplanes as well as model cars.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Linda, Irene and Rose and a son Lyndon Cannady.

Survivors include his wife Beverly Maxon of Cowles, Nebraska; sons James Cannady and wife Colleen of Hastings, Nebraska; Robert Cannady and wife Anna of Longmont, Colorado; daughters Mickey Gee of Florada and Margaret Maxon of Colorado.  Grandchildren: Anngela (Clyde); Larina (Fred); Pattrica (Pete); Charolette (Chuck); Nathan; Marisha, Justin, Jimmy and Christy, numberous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and a host of friends.
