James F. Jensen ,97, passed away from natural causes on March 30, at a care facility in Boise, Idaho.
Jim was born in Brigham City, Utah, on May 29, 1911, to James M. and Florence Housley Jensen. He married Angelina Santarelli on July 6, 1944 in Ogden, Utah, where they were both raised.
Jim and Angie settled in Boise, Idaho where their son David was born.
He was employed by the U.S. Bureau of Public Roads working on construction of National Forest highways. His job took him to many places including Panama, on roadwork across the Isthmus (1940-41) and Alaska, working on the Alcan Highway (1942-43). Jim retired in 1973 after 40 years of work with the Bureau.
Some of Jim’s happiest times were spent with his family. He was a gentle and loving husband, father, and great-grandfather. Jim is survived by his wife of 64 years, Angie; son, David and wife Carol; grandsons, Brent and wife Anne, Jerry, Jamie and wife Erin; and three great-granddaughters; Jessie, Lauryl, and Lacey Jensen. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and one sister.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Boise Health and Rehab for helping Jim during the last months of his life.
