James “Frank” Graves, 89, of Moberly, died November 27, 2017, at Valley View Nursing and Rehab. Frank was born October 12, 1928 in Moberly to Herman and Vena (Gann) Graves.
Frank was a graduate of Moberly High School and attended Moberly Junior College. He served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army; prior to receiving an honorable discharge. Frank retired from the United States Postal Service in 1987 as the Superintendent of Mail. He then retired in 2010 as the Records Retention Manager for Orscheln’s.
Frank was an active member of Coates Street Presbyterian Church for over 70 years. He was involved in the choir, and was a past deacon and elder. Frank enjoyed bowling.
He married Wanda Alexander on November 16, 1952 in Moberly and she survives. Also surviving are a daughter Deborah “Debbi” Graves-Fruits and husband Gary; a granddaughter, Lauren Fruits all of Lee’s Summit; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters; Catherine Lewis, Erma Spurling and Elizabeth Dover and one brother, Charles Graves.
