He was born in Atlanta, GA on October 13, 1941, to the late Fay Anderson Dorsey and Mary Ellen Johnson Dorsey. Along with his parents, Jimmy as he was known by friends and family, is preceded in death by his sister Mary Faye West. He is survived by his wife, Paula Robinson Dorsey; daughters, Shannon Thompson and her husband Joel, Sandi Davis and her husband Jeff; grandchildren, Kyle Johnston, Ryan Johnston, Haley Thompson, Todd Davis (Payton), Olivia Davis; nephew, Billy West and sister-in-law Decie Jenkins Strong.
