Rarick, James Franklin Sr.

Born Nov. 13, 1944 — Died Dec. 12, 2014

James Franklin Rarick, Sr. of Baltimore, MD, answered the call of the Lord to come home to perfect rest and peace.  He was known to many in his family as Jimmy, to friends as Jim and many others as Poppy.  Jimmy was born and raised in West Virginia.  He was the son of the late J. C. “Chief” and Mary Rarick of Springton and Peterstown, WV.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy “Dottie” Rarick, and siblings, Roberta Mabe, William (Bill) Rarick, Lois Asbury, Mary Omega Gandee and nephew, Eddie Woods.

Jimmy graduated from Matoaka High School and served in the U.S. Air Force.  He moved to Baltimore, MD where he worked and was known and loved by many friends.  He had a kind, loving spirit and always had a smile on his face.  He kept his family entertained with his wit.  Jimmy loved the Lord and served Him with gladness and a joyful heart.

Those family members left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Mary Lou Johnston of Kegley, WV, his son, James Rarick of Leesburg, VA, brothers and sisters, Jacob C. Rarick of Princeton WV, Donna Woods of Princeton WV, Wahunita Rarick of Peterstown, WV, Ada Willis of Baltimore, MD, Marcus Rarick of Alexandria VA and Merlin Rarick of Princeton, WV.  

Jimmy had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and a great grandchild whom he truly loved.  HIs friends were many and he made them his family.  He will always be loved and remembered.
