James F. McCord, 87, Anderson, died May 19, 2007 at I.U. Medical Center-Indianapolis after a brief illness.

He was born September 29, 1919 in Elwood, Indiana, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. James lived in Madison County all of his life. He retired in 1975 as an engineer from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 32 years of service. He was also the owner of MGM Travel Service in Anderson for 20 years and was a sheep producer in Daleville. James was a graduate of Elwood High School and Purdue University. He reached the honor of Eagle Scout and was a Boy Scout leader for many years. He was a prior board member of Anderson Symphony.

He is survived by his wife whom he married September 18, 1948: Sara ”Betty” Shively McCord. Sister: Annabelle Kimball of Nashua, New Hampshire. Special friends: The Michael L. Pershing Family. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: John E. & Blanche Procter McCord.
