James F. Blesse, Jr., 59, of Jacksonville, passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017, at Rushville Nursing and Rehab.
He was born Oct. 12, 1957, in Jacksonville, the son of James F. Blesse, Sr. and Elizabeth (Young) Blesse.
He is survived by three children, Jason Blesse of Jacksonville, James Blesse, III of Savannah, GA, and Miranda Allen of Jacksonville; his mother, Elizabeth of Jacksonville; his brother, Chris Blesse of Jacksonville; two sisters, Carrie (Blesse) Kirkpatrick of Salida, CO and Leslie (Blesse) Pennell of Lafayette, IN; two nieces, Nicole Pennell and Tara Blesse; five nephews, Sean Blesse, Josh Blesse, Brian Pennell, Derek (Kenzie) Kirkpatrick and Parker Kirkpatrick; two great nephews, Thrice and Gaige Kirkpatrick; great niece, Mya Blesse; his aunt, Dorothy Currence; two cousins, Jim Currence and Pam (Currence) Lewis; his uncle and aunt, Gene and Anne Young; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, James; niece, Shannon Keith; grandson, Isaiah Blesse; and his grandparents, Francis and Elta Blesse, and Walter and Ruby Young.
Jim married Linda Way and they had one child, Jason. He later married Martha Bergschneider (deceased) and they had two children, James and Miranda.
Jim attended Routt and Our Saviour Schools. He loved playing golf and bowling. Jim worked for A&P Groceries until they closed. He then worked at KC Club for 14 years until his illness. Jim had a massive stroke in 2003 that left him unable to walk or talk. He resided in Rushville, IL at Rushville Nursing and Rehab (formerly Snyders). The family wishes to thank the staff at the nursing home, all the RNs, LPNs, and CNAs that gave Jim such good care for so many years, to the special people that gave him extra care (you know who you are), and thank you to Dr. Schroeder, Diane, and Joyce.
