James Edward Wright Jr., a native Manila and a resident of Mobile, affectionately known to family and friends as “Redd,” made his earthly transition on May 30, 2021 at his residence. He was born on Nov. 25, 1966 to Mazie Coleman Wright and James Edward Wright Sr. Redd was a graduate of Jackson High School in the Class of 1985. He was a member of the Jackson Aggie football team. Redd was a great son, father, and a proud grandfather; he loved his family dearly! He also loved his favorite black Mustang convertible.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Rosie L. Coleman and Jimmie Coleman, and Inez and E.V. Wright; great-grandparents, Shield and Neomia Thomas, Ola Coleman, Lillie and Garfield Wright and Julia Finch; and great-great-grandmother, Virginia Thomas.

Left to cherish his memories are his parents, Marie Coleman Wright of Jackson and James Edward Wright Sr. of Manila; his children, Jarrett Wright of Birmingham, and Mysia Brito and Ladaryl Franklin, both of Mobile; one granddaughter, Kensley Aadil of Mobile; adopted and raised as his own, Petra Wright of Luxora, Ark. and Jaime Morris of Mobile. Two brothers, Eric Wright, Sr. Of Jackson and Erwin Wright of Manila; one sister, Pamela Wright of Moss Point, Miss.; his fiancee, Tabatha Pugh of Mobile,; six uncles, Robert James Coleman, Bobbie (Brenette) Coleman of Flint, Mich., Roycie (Mammie) Coleman of Mobile, Amos Wright of Manila ,Carlos (Carolyn) Wright of Daphne and McAuthor (Cynthia) Wright of Suggsville; four aunts, Evelyn (Dennis) Jones of Whatley, Lela Lockett of Sweet Water, Julia Rivers of McIntosh and Hattie McGhee of Winn; his best friend of 45 years, Tyrone Keith Perine of Texas; two nephews and two nieces; and a host of other cousins, relatives, and many friends.
