James (JJ) Edward Harper IV was born on a rainy day on January 30, 2003 in Boise Idaho. He passed away in a tragic accident in Donnelly, Idaho on June 30, 2017 along with his father and two other family friends. He was the only child of Lt. Col. James Edward Harper III and Amy White and the stepson of Brian White. He went to Amity Elementary School and had just completed the eighth grade at West Junior High. He played baseball, basketball, soccer and football growing up. He found great success in eighth grade by taking 3rd place in wrestling and by placing in the shot put and discus in city wide meets. JJ was a leader on the football field and the kind of kid people liked to coach. He always gave 100% and left his heart on the field. He played on the offensive and defensive lines most of his life and was training to be a fullback and linebacker for his freshman year of Borah football. JJ had an old soul and a huge heart. He was silly and would do just about anything to make someone smile. He would counsel his friends late at night and wave to his mom as he ran off the field. JJ was an amazing son who will long be remembered by his teammates, classmates, friends, and family. He was taken from us too soon.
We love you JJ. #everythingfor74
