James E. Rogers, age 99, was born on April 27, 1927 in Clarksville, Texas to Ellie and William Rogers, and passed peacefully in Dallas, Texas on June 9, 2019. James served his country in World World II in the Philippines. He was a private first class of the US Army from 1942 to October 15, 1945. In the Army he was a Rifleman Squad Leader, Camouflage Squad Leader, Military Police, Carpenter and Messenger. James was a proud member of the Army Baseball Team. He also received grenade training. He was a member of the Texas National Guard from October 15, 1945 to May 20, 1946. Mr. Rogers earned many medals including a Purple Heart for an injury received near Mindoro Island in the Philippines. James Roger was a paid up for life member of the American Legions Love Field Post 453.
